The Asian Tiger Mosquito (Aedes albopictus) is an aggressive day biting mosquito that has made its way to Morris County. To help raise awareness of this mosquito and encourage homeowner’s to empty containers of standing water, Morris County Division of Mosquito Control has partnered with many municipalities to host a travelling display which will be at the Rockaway Township Town Hall during the week of August 14th.
The display features information about the biology of the Asian Tiger mosquito and techniques to reduce this troublesome pest from making its home in your neighborhoods. Literature is also available about mosquito borne disease, control of mosquitoes and ways to protect yourself from mosquitoes at home and away.
An additional display is located in the Town Hall through the month of September with information on the Zika virus. Please stop in and check it out!
