The Division of Recreation is very pleased to offer Rockaway Township residents a variety of exercise programs. Classes run on an 8 week schedule throughout the year. These documents are available online below or may be acquired at the Division of Recreation office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you have any questions or require additional information, please call the Division of Recreation at 973-983-2841. Current classes include:
"Healthy Bones” - A low impact exercise program for women and men of any age who have been diagnosed with or are at risk for osteoporosis.
"Low Impact Aerobics" - Includes warm-up, stretching, balance awareness, cardio routine, muscle strengthening with hand weights and followed by cool down/relaxation.
"Yoga” - Chair Yoga including stretching, basic postures, breathing & meditations and Open Yoga which is chair exercises plus low impact aerobic exercises.
“Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP)” - Low impact exercise program to maintain muscle strength, increase joint flexibility and range of motion while improving overall stamina.
