This interactive community program aims to decrease food insecurity while promoting healthy eating. There are two components to this program:
In partnership with Urban Agriculture Cooperative, we will be distributing FREE Harvest boxes to 50 families. These Harvest Boxes contain a variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs and specialty items, all of which have been grown/made by local farmers in New Jersey. Included in the Harvest Boxes are recipe cards and nutritional information.
In partnership with Morris Hills High School and Whole Nutrition Center, we will be hosting four interactive cooking classes to teach residents how to cook with the items included in the Harvest Box and the nutritional benefits of incorporating these foods into your diet.
