This Jab’s For You: NJ Family Encourages COVID-19 Vaccination in Memory of Those Affected Dr. Steven Arsht and his wife, Marla, have launched a campaign to promote COVID-19 vaccination while honoring those lost to and deeply affected by the infection. Dr. Arsht, whose family has roots in Rockaway Township, started this initiative in memory of his brother-in law, Louis Sarrel , who succumbed to the effects of COVID-19 and passed away just after his 58th birthday in April 2020.
Dr. Arsht conceived the idea of This Jab’s for You as he sat for his COVID-19 vaccination, finding himself overcome with emotion as he thought of Louis. He thought to himself, ‘This jab’s for you, Louis,’ as he received his first inoculation, and a movement was born.
The mission of This Jab’s for You is to encourage vaccination for COVID-19 by memorializing those whom we have lost to the pandemic.
