Late on Thursday, November 22, 2018 Rockaway Township Police Department was subject to a data security incident when attackers deployed ransomware in police department systems. Rockaway Township Police Department immediately retained third party experts to assist them with remediation and data restoration. Most of the affected systems are functional again and we expect to be fully operational again soon. We have no indication that any personal data was taken by the attackers but the investigation is ongoing. We appreciate sincerely the understanding and patience of our community while we investigate this incident. Public service and community safety are our highest priority.
