[ARCHIVED] Yardwaste Containers - Proper Procedures:

Landscape barrels unacceptable

Please be aware that yard waste must be put out in proper containers in order to not be rejected. A proper container would be a standard garbage can (35 gallon or less) labeled yard waste or a brown biodegradable bag - weight not to exceed 50 pounds, including can. Holes may be drilled in the bottom of the can to allow water to escape. Any can too heavy to lift due to water or overfilling will be rejected. Landscape Barrels and Drums of any size are not proper containers for yard waste and will be universally rejected. Yard waste cans / bags may consist of grass, leaves and brush only. Any other material, such as dirt or rocks will also result in the yard waste being rejected. Please have yard waste to the curb by 5am. Adhering to these procedures will help to ensure a smooth vegetative collection. Thank you for your cooperation.
