The New Jersey Department of Transportation would like to take this opportunity to notify the community and businesses in the area of Hibernia Avenue Railroad Grade Crossing, in Rockaway Borough, Morris County, of the upcoming Reconstruction of the Hibernia Avenue Railroad Grade Crossing.
This work will require the full closure of the Grade Crossing from Monday, October 24, 2016 at 6:00 AM until Friday, October 28, 2016 at 6:00 PM. The Ramp to RT80 Eastbound will be closed for the duration of the project. A temporary road will be constructed for access to Vandrehoof Ave only. The road will be a one lane dirt (stone) road that will go across the tracks from Cooper St to Hibernia Ave. Traffic that wants to go to RT80 Eastbound will be directed to RT46 East, to then follow the regular sign indications to RT80. Traffic on Halsey Ave (county RT 513) will be directed to Green Pond Rd to Morris Ave which turns into Savage Rd. Them they would make a right onto Franklin Rd and make a left at the intersection with W. Main St (RT46 E). Traffic traveling on E. Main St (County RT644) will be directed stay on RT644 to the intersection with RT46 East.
The existing Railroad Crossing will be removed and a new concrete railroad crossing will be installed with new asphalt approaches. The detour will be coordinated with the local police.
